After being postponed earlier this year due to the pandemic, the Friends of the Aiken County Historical Museum will resume its annual lecture series in May with five talks relating to the county’s 150th anniversary celebration, titled “Biography of Our Home: 150 Years in Aiken County.” Each lecture will show how people, places and events have shaped Aiken County over the past century and a half.  All lectures are on Sunday at 3 p.m.

May 16:  Lauren Virgo – “The Founding of Aiken County”

May 23:  Derek Berry – The Impact of the Savannah River Site

June 6:    Dr. Tom Mack – Three Classic Movers and Shakers in Aiken County: Evans,                    Jackson and Thurmond

June 13:  Dr. Walter Curry – African American Stories from Turn of the Century – The                    Seawright-Ellison and Thompson Families

June 20:   Linda Johnson – Exploring the Four Corners of Aiken County
