To outfit 4,500 square feet of new space in the County-owned building to create a Preservation Center and enhance the current exhibits, artwork, and educational and research experiences at the Aiken County Museum.

The Story
Recently, the Aiken County Museum received two marvelous gifts: The first gift was the Aiken County Council’s decision to grant the Museum a portion of the recently renovated north wing of the Aiken County Public Library. This second-floor area (4,500 sq. feet) will be used for the express purpose of treating, digitizing, and storing the Museum’s artifacts in conditions that will prolong their life, and this campaign will outfit the space with state-of-the-art equipment and controlled storage area for the Museum’s artifacts.
In tandem, the Friends Capital Campaign is to raise enough funds to renovate permanent exhibits and enhance the educational programs at Banksia, home of our primary Museum campus on Newberry Street.
